

Daily train services link Athens with Patras and Kavasila. At Kavasila (Prefecture of Eleia), passengers get off the train and take the local train to Kyllini.
Many ferries trip from Italy to Kefalonia, starting from the ports of Brindisi, Bari, Ancona and Venice (Venezia) in various days in the week, but not during all the year.
Buses run daily from Athens (Bus Station: 100 Kifissou Street) to the ports of Patras, Kyllini and Astakos (Aitoloacarnania). From these three ports there are immediate connections by ferry to Kefalonia. The Athens-Kefalonia trip via Patras takes 9 hours, via Kyllini 7 1/2 hours and via Astakos approximately 7 3/4 hours.
There are daily flights all the year round from the island to Athens (approximately one hour flight time). The airport lies at a distance of 9 kms from Argostoli and trasport is provided by Olympic Airways buses or by taxis.
There are boat services throughout the year linking Kefalonia with Ithaka, Lefkada, Zakynthos and Mytikas (on the mainland). In the summer Kefalonia is also linked by sea to Igoumenitsa, Corfu (Kerkyra), Paxi (Paxos) and some other ports.
